Capitalism

It can only be summed up thusly:

Picture a screaming, malevolent infant, its visage gnarled with greed, mouth agape, tiny fists groping in the air just short of reach of a wizened breast and nipple, long dry of milk. The Infant, Capitalism, screams and wretches with spittle afly “More! More! More! More!” endlessly until and long after there is No More.

This is what our society has come to represent to the rest of the world. We are insensitive to our own lives and servants to a Pavlovian system of consumerism.

Our conversation is only empowered to discuss current technological gadgetry shunning all subjects that approach humanism, religion or philosophy. Anything short of Teutonic devotion to the mainstream is seen as futile and tedious, even though the artistic entertainment these androids require is created by people absolutely unlike them-artists, who live as far from the mainstream as possible.

Everyday millions of citizens find themselves trapped in their cars slowed to a crawl. The overcrowding on the roads is apparent everywhere. Vast acreage of wilderness went neath the hatchet for the construction of the homes now being taken away from those who bought them, through foreclosure.

Thousands of Americans have died, now over 6000, in the so-called War on Terror. We lost 3000 on September 11, 2001. So far we have lost over 3000 in our war against Iraq and Afghanistan. What makes us think we are going to out do the Russians (Soviets) when they lost their effort there?  Was it not a major factor in the fall of the Soviet Union?

Police warn that the prevalence of gangs across the American landscape and the rise in violent crime are harbingers of a potential insurrection. Oddly, the criminals in our society admire the Capitalists and engage in crime to achieve the same meaningless material ends. That makes them a formidable foe if it ever became all out.

Will it end with the world in ultimate gridlock and our enemies parading through the lines of stalled cars robbing us and dressing in our clothes and ultimately  sitting stalled in what were once our cars? Amazing isn’t it.

In the meantime while the privileged who can read this, ponder their reasons for assisting others versus their lack of time, interest, resources or what have you to do same, others, your brethren face the cruelest hardships conjured up this side of Hitler’s Warsaw Ghetto. Homelessness and poverty are curses and drive the forlorn to absolute despair and a hellish existence that no longer sees eye to eye with your civilized values. And to them, you are the enemy. If you identify with the enemy, what makes you any different?

 

Are you really afraid that you are going to be victimized by terrorists? You cannot really fear that. If that is your rationale for tolerating the obscenity of this economic system try to understand that you are creating a far more terrifying enemy and they are in this nation, huddled in dark corners, without hope and without shelter.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — that to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.”

Life must be sustained to exist. Your right to Life guarantees your right to subsistence. For liberty and happiness may well follow when Life is secured. Demand the right to subsistence. It is not an entitlement; it is a God Given Right in our own Declaration of Independence. Why do you settle for slavery?
