Feel the NoiseFor something that is actually rather original, this is one tired film, which is both unexpected and sad.

Rob (Omarion Grandberry) is a rapper living in the ghetto. Exactly which one is neither here nor there, but his mother     (Melonie Diaz) won't give him the money to enter the night's contest, so he boosts some hubcaps, not knowing that they're the property of some gangbanger with a gun. So when he takes the stage, he gets shot at, and has to go on the lam, and as his long-lost father Roberto (Giancarlo Esposito) is living in Puerto Rico with his wife(Meredith Ostrom), that's a perfect place to hide.

Now stepmom has a son named Javi (Victor Rasuk), who's about our hero's age, and both shows him the ropes and introduces him to the luscious "CC" (Zulay Henao), the obvious love interest. Not only that, Javi is an aspiring musician himself, and wishes to become a master of Reggaeton, a spicy blend of hip-hop, reggae and Latin beats, which executive producer J-Lo wants to introduce to the American public at large.

The film goes on it's uninpired way, as CC gets involved with an evil white record exec(James McCaffrey), who brings CC, Javi and Rob back to NYC, and works his evil magic, which causes no end of grief and leads to the lull before the inevitable happy ending.

The music is okay, the acting mediocre and the script is lousy and predictable. It's not worth the trouble.
