Review:
This
is a war movie. The cast and crew declare war on one of the worst
scripts ever to get produced by a major Hollywood company and
lose. But boy! What an effort!! What a battle these guys put up!
Ben Affleck is Larry Gigli: cutsie hit man. He’s ordered by his
employer Louis(Lenny Venito) to kidnap mentally disturbed
Brian(Justin Bartha), who’s the brother of a District Attorney
who’s hot on the trail of a character played by Al Pacino. But
Louis doesn’t trust Larry and sends another killer
namedRicki(Jennifer Lopez) the white hot lesbian. Gigli cures her
of her affliction, and everyone except Louis live happily ever
after.
This film has some really good performances. J-Lo and Affleck give
better than average performances, Pacino, Christopher Walken and
Lainie Kazan, as our hero’s mother, all manage to chew the scenery
into a greenish powder, and have a great time doing it. But the
film is stupid, pedantic and boring. But it does have it’s
moments.
This film isn’t bad enough to be a must see and isn’t good
enough to be one either.
