David North’s Fear
Mr. North’s March 17,
2006 editorial piece “Bush Administration Renews ‘Preemptive War’
Strategy” reveals the pathological paranoia that permeates today’s
neo-left. Fear number one is a robust America that has the temerity to
preemptively defend itself from Islamist fascists, e.g. al Qaeda and mad
Iranian Mullahs.
Mr. North descends into
self-destructive denial since his
position ignores the world war foisted upon America and the free world
by Islamist fascists on September 11th, 2001. He apparently prefers the
tender mercies of these barbarians instead of defeating them. To the
contrary, President Bush and the American people have rationally chosen
overt national self defense.
Secondly, Mr. North fears U.S. hegemony. This is classic neo-leftist
moral relativism. America is the lone nation responsible for protecting
humanity from the tyrannies of genocidal German Nazism and Russian and
Chinese Communism. In our time, America is the sole defender of
civilization from Islamist fascist tyranny, torture and genocide. No
nation in history comes close to the moral exceptionalism of America. If
this is hegemony, sign me up.
And lastly Mr. North is petrified by American capitalism. He is ignorant
of the fact that in the last twenty-five years it has enabled the
creation of over fifty million new jobs and $50,000,000,000,000
(trillion) of new wealth.
And American capitalism has facilitated more prosperity in the last
twenty-five years than in the previous two hundred. It is the greatest
contribution to humanity in history.
Mr. North does us a great service by displaying irrational neo-leftism.
It shows us who not to elect to high political office. Specifically,
this refers to anyone who is a member of his club and its wholly owned
neo-leftist political machine – the Democratic Party. He and his ilk
must be resisted with all due effort. The fate of the free world depends
on it.

Mayor Bloomberg and NYPD
Commissioner Kelly have launched a futile new quality of life crackdown
on vendors, panhandlers, squeegee guys, public urinators and the
homeless. It makes no more sense than Giuliani's did. People are
homeless
because
there is no affordable housing in NYC. They urinate on the street
because there are no public toilets. They vend because the economy is
crashing and they can't get a regular job. The most hopeless New Yorkers
wash car windows and panhandle because they need to survive and chose
not to turn to crime. Arresting these people without doing anything to
address the causes behind their actions is a huge waste of tax dollars.
Mike Bloomberg is supposed to be a business genius who has surrounded
himself with experts. This makes them look like a bunch of amateurs.

In
two recent speeches, the unelected "President" George W Bush
said he watched on TV as the first airliner hit the World Trade
Center. But how could this be? Although a few video cameras
happened to record the event, none of their images was being
broadcast live; they were only found and shown on the networks
later that day.
If Bush is telling the truth, he must have been watching a
special broadcast by government agents who knew the attack was
going to take place. And if they knew that, and just watched
and did nothing to stop it, then they must have wanted it to
happen. That would make the 9-11 attack similar in purpose
to the Reichstag Fire in Germany in 1933 -- a catastrophe
staged by a fascist regime but blamed on an enemy, and then
used as a pretext for totalitarian rule.
Please download and save these web pages as files on your
computer disk (in their original HTML form if you know how to
make your browser do that). Don't just bookmark them, because
the Bush gang could remove or alter them at any time. Then
just search for "plane" in each, and you'll find Bush's words.

As
a Muslim American, I am upset to see where our great nation is
heading since Sep 11. In a short span President Bush has
destroyed the Islamic goodwill so painstakingly built by
President Clinton through his actions in Bosnia, Kosovo and
Chechnya.
Targeting terrorists is okay, but killing thousands of innocents
Afghans is not. Destroying an ally's sovereignty is not (the US
has pressured Pakistan to give 3 airbases; now that steadfast
ally has even been forced to accept incursions by US soldiers in
pursuit of al Qaeda!). Destroying another ally's reputation is
not (American media has lambasted Saudi Arabia and nearly
blasphemed Islam). Encouraging opportunists is not (now India
and Israel use US actions to justify their own wars against
Islamic movements).
The attacks on Indian parliament and the Israeli capture of
weapons ship are fraud. President Bush must instruct CIA to look
into these cases to see who staged them for what purpose.

The City can't have
it both ways. Giuliani turned the WTC disaster site into a
shameless tourist attraction and publicity launch pad for
himself within hours of the 9/11attack. He led countless groups
of celebrities, sports figures and elected officials on tours of
the site who were looking for a useful photo-op intended to
promote their careers. None of these people had any legitimate
need or reason to be there. He wore the NYPD and FDNY logos in
hundreds of media appearances so as to falsely identify himself
with real heros whose salaries he kept at absurdly low levels
and whose health and safety he failed to protect. Right before
leaving office he had a giant tourist viewing platform built at
the site - after previously restricting it to real New Yorkers
and to the media. The City is now distributing tickets to see
the ruins from a kiosk at the South Street Seaport - a location
where almost everyone is a tourist - as if the WTC disaster was
a Broadway show. The businesses in the area that are part of the
Downtown Alliance BID are advertising tourists discounts and
even a happy hour linked to the disaster. Inevitably in our
supposedly free market system, vendors show up to try and make
some money. How is what they are doing any more shameful than
what Giuliani and the business groups have been doing?

U.S. Foreign
Policy and Bangladesh
I am not a politician and so will never understand how US foreign policy
towards a country like Bangladesh is formulated. This particular
question would have never crossed my mind if I were not shocked in
several major events related to Bangladesh - first, its creation in
1971; second, the assassination of its leader, Mujibur Rahman by
fundamentalist supporters; third, changing the Bangladesh constitution
from secular state towards Islamic state; fourth, many communal riots in
Bangladesh since 1971; fifth, the September 11 disaster; sixth, tough
role by US Government against Muslim terrorist based on radical belief;
seventh, rise of Muslim militants before the Afganistan war; eighth,
election of Bangladesh timing on October 1, 2001; ninth, establishment
of Human Rights Congress for Bangladesh Minority (HRCBM); and tenth,
meeting Mr.Tod Holmstrom Bangladesh Desk, State department.
In 1971 when over 2 millions of Bangladeshis (over 80% being minority)
were butchered and over 10 millions became refugees in India for a
democratic movement against Pakistani Military Junta, Indian PM, Ms.
Indira Gandhi was asking for Nixon/Kissinger’s help.
Nixon/Kissinger – so-called duo (famous for the world’s
mischief) instead of helping India was busy making friendship with
Pakistan military dictator for a Chinese trip. USA was one of the last
countries recognizing Bangladesh even after independence. Where as,
Canada being USA neighbor, was one of the first few countries to
recognize Bangladesh. Since then, Bangladesh was funded and supported by
Islamic fundamentalisms from Middle East countries causing several
communal riots. Even, for example, Time magazine in its November 12
issue, page 61, presented a picture of Bangladesh as part of Alqaeda
network During four months of the election campaign in Bangladesh before
9/11, moderate parties were leading the campaign. The picture of the
Bangladesh election campaign totally changed after Mr. President Bushes
declaration of war against terrorism and fundamental Islamic radical
parties won the election causing a big problem to minorities who, in
general, were supporting moderate parties.
We went to see Mr. Holmstrom and make him aware of the current situation
in Bangladesh in November. His reaction was, as if, an act of some
scattered criminal activities. We have additional facts now given below
and would like some positive reactions from the state department. It
should be noted that all reports we collected relate to minorities only.
Criminal activities cannot be contained within this small group only.
Based on the information provided by independent bodies like Canadian
foreign ministry, Amnesty International (AI), British Broadcasting
Corporation (BBC) and HRCBM, we would like to draw the attention of the
State department and its policy makers so that minorities in Bangladesh
are saved from total destruction either by large scale criminal acts or
political motivations. It is like a ‘SOS’ call similar to
ones made by minorities from Afganistan when minorities were losing
their rights or even when Bhudhist statues were destroyed. It should be
a serious concern to the world body when the minority percentage of a
country like Bangladesh goes down from high 40% to a low 10% since
Indian independence. The irony is that minorities enjoyed some special
privileges as refugees from Indian Government before Bangladesh became
an Independent country. After independence, Sheikh Mujubur Rahman signed
a pact with the then Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi when all special
privileges were eliminated assuming two countries will live as good
neighbors for ever. Things have changed since Mujibur Rahman’s
assassination in 1974. We, in HRCBM, are also Bangladeshis and we would
like to see economic growth with social harmony.
Nothing could be achieved without some pressures to the current
administration of Bangladesh Government who is dominated by fundamental
Islamic parties. Even today, fundamental radicals leaders of Bangaldesh
Government make many statements where they want to eliminate all rights
of the minority, destroy all cultural symbols – the same way
Taliban did last year or year before. The war against terrorism cannot
be won in Bangladesh unless such activities are stopped with strings
attached to the economic aid given by foreign countries. This is an
appeal from Human Rights Congress for Bangladesh Minorities (HRCBM).
