It is well known that European are much more enamored with jazz then most Americans. A new web site www.jazzonweb.com as emerged from Milan, Italy. JazzOnWeb is an Italian project, born from the collaboration with the Civic Music School, Milan. Jazzonweb was born from the personally felt exigency of knowing more about our favourite subject and of working in the world we love most: music. The site offers: Thematic Database: this database allows You to locate the website of Your interest, information, discussions, through simple, plain categories and a quick/functional Search Engine. Some categories of interest are: 1) Reviews& resources, which also contain the 'magazines on line ' section (the so-called e-Zines) 2) Artists 3) Record labels & productions 4) Music shops, instruments & artisans, etc… They also have a News Channel which offers on line reviews, with articles by experts, whom we hope to get involved in our activity. Through the Suggest a story service, experts, journalists, professionals or simple 'amateurs' will be able to suggest an article-news, that will be published in the home page of jazzonweb review. You will just have to click on Suggest a story and fill in the form, including Your article or critical review. Journalists will always be allowed to insert the source from which they took information, providing a link to the online review, or adding to the text the name and the relative publication date of the offline review from which it was extracted. This article will be included in a specific category and will remain in jazzonweb archives forever, visible and accessible to anybody. Moreover, as each news is connected to a discussion forum, the reporter will receive different opinions about what he has written, actively interacting with the users. If the journalist gives his/her e-mail address, he will be able to start correspondence with the readers. Jazzonweb news channel will therefore contribute to acquire visibility, for both already existing articles and unpublished ones, whose publication will be guaranteed. An interactive forums lets online discussions which investigate different themes, deriving from songs' listening, articles' reading, prepared polls and reviewed news.
