WORK FOR CHANGE! RID AMERICA OF INEQUALITY

  • Something tells me we have to support the President!

I have been among his most fervent critics and I have had a realization, or should I say a good scolding from someone I respect beyond measure; my wife. My wife said, "You know," in her feisty Scottish manner, "We really ought to support Obama. For God’s sake, don’t you think the man is trying to accomplish things he promised? Can’t you see the enormous task that he has under taken? He is trying and being thwarted by many from inside his own party! Obama needs our support more than ever." She is right!

Why I am nothing but a leftist Archie Bunker in my wife’s eyes now and I think I need to think on that. The last thing we need is an ornery old man stirring up the pot and getting nowhere.

Let’s all of us who voted for Obama write to him and instead of crying about what has not been accomplished, which resembles a child’s "are we there yet?" on a long drive, let’s urge him on to action, let’s give him positive ideas and suggestions.

Mostly, I think the traditional media has crippled our nation, much the same way Josef Goebbels Nazi Media did to the German people in WWII. They have fostered the Right Wing ideas and personalities and without them Sarah Palin would have already been as forgotten as John Edwards. For some reason the media thinks it is necessary in order to be "fair" to allow any deranged maniac to spread their gospel of hate on TV, Radio, newspapers, internet and magazines.

We need to take control of this! Otherwise this will be our undoing. We have to call the stations that feature absolute lies and distortions and tell them they are doing so. If Media outlets get enough angry phone calls they drop Personalities like hot potatoes. Exercise your phone and give this a try!

The recent Supreme Court decision to allow corporations to buy political time and run political campaigns does leave out that most big corps want to sell to all the customers, not just special groups or clusters. So, most corporations will continue to distance themselves from politics, as they do now. Politics and business do not mix, in spite of the paranoia of the intelligentsia. But this is a dangerous court. Their shenanigans began back in 2000 with the Gore v Bush decision which gave the country away on a silver platter. We need to replace a few more of them.

Haiti is in complete ruin. There is little help available from any party that does not demand a vested interest for the kind of investment required to get Haiti back on the Human scale again. For God’s sake, those poor people were eating cakes make of dirt and grease baked in the sun. I heard one of their ministers say, "Before the Earthquake, our people were in total despair with the glimmer of hope they would rise to a level we call poverty!" Imagine that kind of desperation? Well it may be that only an Army can get the kind of help to that nation they need. Let’s all wait and hold our judgment until the dust clears.

The Massachusetts election tells me that the voters are playing a game of musical chairs. Remember this election process belongs to the bourgeoisie and they use it to "express themselves". For Massachusetts to go suddenly Republican proves I am right. The same thing happened in New Jersey. No one voted for Christie, they voted against the incumbent. That was a movement a while back and is just apparently catching on. It is the ultimate revenge of the Nerds. They’ll simply vote one out and another in. At that rate we will have no government of any worth within a few short years.

The fact that people will do this rather than take political action, i.e.; run for office, file a petition, attend a political meeting and speak, is clearly what people who need coffee, speed, and Viagra will do to express themselves politically. They do it in the ballet box, the one place they still feel empowered.

Oddly enough, even with the Obama win, and a year of Democratic control of the Congress, America does not have a single idea of what Democratic America means!

I blame Obama for this! He should be the one to re-organize his base, the ones who elected him, and ignite in them a sense of his shared urgency for their plight and his need for their vocal support. He must outline his vision for America, dammit, and see if the People don’t just go for it! We were behind you once Obama and we want to get behind you again. Stand up and be counted Man!.
