President Obama made a memorable and great speech tonight before the Congress of the United States of America and to the American People fortunate enough to have a home and television to watch it on. 

Too many like me expect Obama to pull out a sword, wave it overhead and with his right hand wave a magic wand and make it all better for everyone, bar none. Obviously that will never happen. If that were the case I could wish the Yankees win the World Series and it happen. If wishes were only fishes who would have needed Jesus to spread a few around among many?

I am quite sure I heard a bit of good solid preaching tonight. I know I heard Obama say we are our brother’s keepers and he ought to realize that the other side does not really believe that. They do not want to help anyone else. They see everyone else as less deserving and inferior to them. They really think they are better. He should realize that they are evil. He should be as willing to call the insurance profiteers evil as FDR did. He described hideous death caused by Insurance Company mis-decisions and yet the profit that drove those murders he did not decry as evil.

But he made impassioned demands that this congress come up with ways to stem the tide of this disaster and he offered little hope of letting up the pressure. I cannot imagine there will be anyone bellying up on the GOP side of the fence, but he needs to stop pandering to those creeps. He took them out tonight when he told them there will be no more of their tantrums in town halls now that this meeting of minds has taken place! He made it like marching orders in no uncertain terms, and this old leftist warrior loved that.

What I never like to hear is how everyone is supposed to be so all fire accountable when no one in this rotten country who makes a lot of money is accountable to anyone.

I did perceive something Machiavellian in his insistence that employers who do not buy health insurance for their workers will be fined to cover the cost of insuring them. I saw the Big Boner John Boehner squirm in his chair on that one. His constituents are the kinds that don’t give their workers anything and they would rather have them on Medicare than pay fines.  Obama knows that. So this may have been his Sweeney, something we old guys mean is his way to the promised end, a Public Option.

There is something wholly dishonest in all this you know. If Obama and all those fat cats and kitties in that chamber tonight and all the workers in their precious governments were to turn in the Blue Cross Cards for Medicare, that and all the retires getting Blue Cross who worked for the government, from Obama to the local school janitors were to put that money into Medicare, it would equal nearly if not over $100BILLION annually! That would give all of us Medicare from birth to death.

Ask yourself this: they are hedging on providing you with health coverage, but you are paying for them to have the best coverage. Why are they entitled to this?
